About the "disappearing badge" bug

Issue with the extension: Some users don’t see the AuthoredUp badge on LinkedIn’s home feed, and “create new post” is unreliable on other pages.

Root cause

LinkedIn is transitioning their web app to a new technology. They’re rolling out changes gradually (a few percent at first, then more), so the impact varies by account and moment.

What we did so far

We’ve been tracking this for a few weeks, collecting reports, instrumenting checks, and running daily tests. But we couldn’t ship a fix earlier because none of our accounts had the new version. We finally gained access, reproduced the issue, and began coding a workaround immediately.

Plan and timeline

Ship initial partial fixes by the end of the week. Then keep working on it until all functionality is restored. We’ll post updates as we make improvements and expand coverage.

What you can do

  • Use the AuthoredUp platform to prepare and format your posts
  • To publish: copy your post from platform and paste it into LinkedIn’s native editor as plain text (from right click menu, or by pressing CTRL/CMD + SHIFT + V).
  • Do not uninstall the extension; you can still use it to track posts, stats, and saves.

----

This kind of platform change is the complexity we handle all the time; usually, we patch before it reaches you. This time we couldn’t until we had access.

We are sorry for the disruption, and thank you for your patience.

We’re on it 24/7 until it’s fully stable again. 🧑‍💻
